BIOSOPHY

 

Liqen was born in 1980, in the industrial port of Vigo, Galicia, Spain. A strange gift for proportions and his early awareness give him an amazing ability to connect with disparate worlds and unlikely times.

Liqen is a born artist who endlessly questions multipolarities, the unity between man and the divine, the transformation of species, nature, technological contradictions and their relationship with each other; always in search of new forms of matter and thought, from the most defined to the most amorphous. Initially, he found his most intimate refuge on paper, developing an inordinate capacity for drawing and mastery in the use of watercolors, the latter becoming the essential line of his character as a creator; He has taken his work towards different structures from meticulous study to large formats, such as mural painting, sizing his work and space with an immaterial, critical and, in many cases, absurd narrative. His production in the studio has always been the axis that moves all his structures and where the frictions of the cerebral machine conspire to continue provoking those lines endowed with an extravagant imagination as transcendental as the artist himself, always in search.

Later and to date, he also begins to produce insane pieces of sculpture and art-objects, as well as browsing canvases and capturing his exquisite line through oil; leading him to a deeper personal and artistic evolution. Liqen's art has no definition, it feeds on immensity.
